•Report Type applies for data reports / widgets only and sets the overall layout of the report.
•Data View identifies the one that contains the information for the report.
•Fields are listed for the data view and you can click several to be included and to include calculated fields
•Group Rows by can optionally be used to group the report rows; choose one or more fields by selecting from the drop-down list or keying in the first few characters and searching to reduce the selections.
All fields to be included or used for grouping are created as ‘cards’ and listed. For each one, drag the entries up and down the list to change their display order or grouping priority, or between the Fields and Group Rows by selections, or click the name to edit details:
o Display Name is used to specify a different name to be shown on the report
o Date Formatting applies to date type fields so you can select from available formats
o Grouping Operations determine what is to be shown in sub-totals and totals at each change of group field content — Sum for numeric fields only to provide a total, Min or Max to show the lowest and highest of the specified values, Count to indicate the number of records within the group, Unique Count to discount records that occur multiple times (such as several entries for the same customer) and Average for numeric fields only to show the total value divided by the number of entries.
o Drill Through Location applies if more than one level of grouped data is selected and specifies where drilling down to a lower level of detail is allowed so data can be viewed and edited. This may be None if drill through is not permitted, Dashboard if selectable when viewing at a dashboard, Edit Page when amending the widget or Clone on Live when creating a new version from a live record.
o Heading Group specifies the name (either an existing one or one you create by typing an unused name) that is to appear at the head of several grouped columns or for bars on a chart. All columns or bars with the same Heading Group name will appear together under the same heading. For example, you may show Actual Effort Costs and Actual Expenditure Costs under a Costs group heading.
For each listed card, click:
o for a data widget only, to hide the group or field name on the report or to display it
o to remove the field from the list.
•Sorting/Fields determine the field(s) on which the data is sorted, either ascending or descending order (which you can change by clicking the arrow against the field name).
•Row Format indicates if all rows of data are to be listed (Detailed Data) or if a summary row is to be shown on change of a selected field specified under Group Rows by.
•Suppress repeated column values in subsequent rows will, if checked, only print a column value if different to the previous row, preventing a name being repeated continuously.
•Display selected group sub-totals is checked if sub-totals are to appear on change of Group Rows by fields.
•Display grand totals for the report determines if overall report totals are to appear.
