To add and amend Nominal Codes, select Nominal Code (Account Code) from the Financial section of Administration. You can then process a search (as described at Searching and Filters) to list matching options:
Click Add to create a record. For a listed Nominal Code, you can click then:

to edit the record. |
Clone |
creates a record with the same general details as the selected one. You must specify a code for this entry and can change other details. |
Code Converter |
to change the code of the account if it is incorrect. All affected records will be updated. |
Delete |
to delete the record, after confirmation, providing it is not in use. |

If you have an existing Nominal (General) Ledger system, you will enter the codes that are already used there. If not, you should structure your codes properly before entering them here. You will have distinct ranges of codes for different categories of income and expense and should leave gaps so that you can add further codes later without disrupting the overall structure. |

will identify what the code represents. |
Active |
is checked if the code is available for use, otherwise is unchecked. You can make codes temporarily inactive to prevent their use and can set up codes in advance of them being needed. |
Default Timesheet/Expense Account
Audit |
identify the codes that are normally applied for time and expense entries. There can only be one default code for each type and so, if you set a check box on when there is already a default, you must confirm that the default is to be transferred to this code for all future invoiced values.
This entity has an audit screen to track any changes made to the configuration of the entity.
